Mining
Mining lets you gather your own raw ores and rare prisms straight from the world, then smelt them into metal bars at the Forge to craft pickaxes, weapons and full equipment sets. It is a self-contained progression: the deeper your mining skill and the better your pickaxe, the faster and richer every strike becomes.
How it works
- Step 1Earn your pickaxeFinish the dwarven task — slay 500 dwarves — to unlock the Copper Pickaxe recipe, then forge it at the Forge (Tools tab).
- Step 2Find an ore veinOre veins are rock formations scattered through the mines and caves. Walk next to one.
- Step 3Use the pickaxe on itEach use makes several strikes. Every strike rolls for ore, a bonus lump of coal and (rarely) a prism.
- Step 4Smelt & craftTake your ore + coal to the Forge Ingots tab to smelt bars, then craft gear from those bars.
Pickaxes
Your pickaxe tier decides how many strikes (drop rolls) you get per use — a better pickaxe means more ore, coal and prism chances every single time you mine. Each tier is crafted from the previous one plus bars at the Forge.
| Pickaxe | Strikes / use | Notes | |
|---|---|---|---|

Mining skill
Every strike grants mining experience and raises your mining level (1–100), shown in your skills window. A higher mining level unlocks tougher ores, increases your chance of finding prisms (up to +5%) and improves the ore yield inside the paid infinite mines. You need to reach each ore's required level before you can mine it.
Ores & where they come from
Each vein yields one kind of ore. Tougher ores require a higher mining level but grant more experience per strike. Coal is the fuel every smelt needs — and any non-coal vein also has a small chance (~3%) to drop a bonus lump of coal.
| Ore | Mining level | XP / strike | Used for | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
![]() | Copper Ore | 1 | 4 | Copper Bar |
![]() | Coal | 5 | 8 | Fuel for every smelt |
![]() | Iron Ore | 10 | 7 | Iron Bar |
![]() | Gold Ore | 25 | 12 | Gold Bar |

Vein types
Scattered veins
- Always drop their ore on every strike.
- Best prism chance (~10% per strike).
- Deplete after a few strikes, then regenerate in place after a cooldown (20–120 min by ore type).
- Free and open to everyone — the main way to gather materials.
Infinite mines
- Never deplete — grind without waiting.
- Ore isn't guaranteed: the chance scales with your pickaxe tier and mining level.
- Much lower prism chance (~0.8% per strike).
- Paid, timed access — pay a foreman to enter for a session.
Prisms
Prisms are the rare bonus drop while mining. They are the key material for the Forge's high-end recipes — Upgrade & Rarity Infusions, the attribute Essences and weapon Gems. The Ancient Prism is the common workhorse (recipes use it in bulk); the coloured prisms are far rarer.

Smelting — from ore to bars
Bring your ore and coal to the Forge and open the Ingots tab. Each recipe turns ore + coal into a refined metal bar, the base material for every crafted pickaxe, weapon and armour piece.
| Bar | Ore | Coal | Cost | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
![]() | Copper Bar | 1× Copper Ore | 1 | Free |
![]() | Iron Bar | 1× Iron Ore | 1 | Free |
![]() | Gold Bar | 1× Gold Ore | 2 | Free |
![]() | Adamantium Bar | 1× Adamantium Ore | 3 | Free |
![]() | Ancient Bar | 5× Ancient Ore | 5 | Free |
![]() | Voidsteel Bar | 1× Voidsteel Ore | 8 | 500 gp |
![]() | Aetherium Bar | 1× Aetherium Ore | 10 | 1,000 gp |
Mines & access
Beyond the open veins, dedicated mines hold the richer ores. They are unlocked through progression and entered for a timed, paid session at their foreman.
| Mine | How to unlock | Entry | Session |
|---|---|---|---|
| Iron Mine | Complete the dwarf-slaying task (500 dwarves) | 50,000 gp | 1 hour |
| Deep Mine | Complete the Deep Mine quest (level 80+) | 100,000 gp | 1 hour |
